A video I made with some friends. We stayed up all night, tried to get a sort of demented look going, and made a little film at a laundromat.

Great Photodocumentation: Disappearing Villages
The loss of culture in the post-Soviet Georgia. By Beso Uznadze
On April 9th, 1991, following a national referendum, the Georgian Supreme Soviet declared the independence of Georgia from the Soviet Union. Within weeks, Zviad Gamsaxurdia, Georgia’s first popularly elected President, promised a brighter future for this fledgling mountainous republic. Twelve years later, Georgians tell a story of fear of civil war, economic collapse and impoverishment.

New Member: Mark Webster
Great works, Mark, my favorites are the Abstract Futurism Paintings !
Artist Statement:
Mark is a painter from Sacramento, USA and you can find and obtain his works here at his website:
Artist Statement:
I wanted to convey the depth of motion of the human figure, landcape, or still life both active and at rest. The result became a form of scuptural abstract imagery of not only the subject itself, but rather the time and space that it occupies in a single moment, or several single moments reducing the form into less complicated shapes. After several drafts I begin developing areas to gain the effect of either greater tension or greater flow. This combined with an edge onedge effect is what gives my work a dimensional depth. The result is a juxtaposition of organic and artifical forms giving my work a sculptural presence.
Mark is also writing a Blog, where you can follow closely his daily painting:

Left, two, three, Art: Tron’s Manifesto

Left, two, three, Art: Tron’s Manifesto
Who has the power over the images, that has the power over us men.
The digital wave has thrown the old reactionary art into a smoking shambles.
Our flowing consciousness follows the billions of pictures. From the first blink to the last dying gaze. It is the strong, unique and beautiful as terrible images that our existence does worth living:
Mother, the first Christmas, a great love, once own children, a line in the desert or the sea’s horizon. The unexpected images enlighten us.
Against the reign of the banal, the stupidity and the greed. Art must return as reconnaissance invading the unknown spaces of Visibility.
Can it?
Real-time digital Tsunami waves have conquered our realities. In milliseconds our weak physical focus fails to set the right attention.
Will only instincts choose the important images ? What makes their importance ? Images that provoke thoughts and images that enforce our decisions. New economies ?
Ongoing, adjusting our reflexes, we test new attention filters for stimulus amplification and noise reduction. Our consciousness is a consciousness in transition.
We urge the continued expansion of our critical sense. Give us a better awareness for all! See, reflect, evaluate, act.
Reality. Claim. Aesthetics. Action. Expectation. Morale. Say. We have a visual right.
We create, manipulate, govern. We shock and enchant the world with new images. Frames of individual decisions becoming waves of societal change.
We are artists without art, stumbling as aging Trons through endless digital spaces. We dare for a new visual future.
Light of aesthetic information: Critical projectiles hurled by the angry fists of imagination and reason.

Artisterium 2009: Love by Shoes
![]() |
| From Artisterium 09 |
Art piece by Bessa Kartlelishvili and Koka Vashakidze, from the Catalog:
Laurel wreath - an emblem of victory and respect.
Shoes - the incident with George Bush turned a shoe into a very politically symbolical object.
